Our Rotary Club’s 'Breathe' film night on Friday 12th January raises funds to eliminate polio globally. The attached flyer explains the film starring Andrew Garfield (Spiderman) and Claire Foy (Betty Windsor in The Crown). It’s a love story involving polio - mercifully avoided by post baby boomer Australians but a terrible blight still afflicting some in Nigeria, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Via the UN, Rotary works with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to eliminate polio but while any child remains infected with poliovirus, all the world's children are at risk of contracting it.
Our club has booked an entire Palace Cinema theatre of 75 seats to raise funds for this cause and plenty of seats are still available.
