Welcome to Rotary year 2023-2024.

Kiki and I are looking forward to visiting your club this year – but it is going to take us some time to get around to almost 90 clubs. A lot of the things that I’d like to talk to you about at the start of the Rotary year will start to become less relevant and even less useful after a month or so. So let’s not wait until I can visit you.

Here is a link to what will be the first edition of District eNews. This lets me reach out to you straight away – with the issues and ideas I’d like you to know about from the get-go.

I’d be grateful if you can make time at a club meeting in July to view this together and perhaps discuss the thoughts and challenges I put in front of you. Of course, you can view it individually at your leisure if you prefer.

District eNews will be a new format for the monthly District Governor’s newsletter this year. A much shorter video than this first one from me and a list of clicks for you to choose which stories and information you want to look at. The next one is coming in early August. Submit your DG Newsletter articles to  newsletter@rotary9510.org - by the 20th of each month.

Meanwhile, please tune into my first ZOOM DG Talkback on July 9th - details on District Website in the events list.

Our 1.2 million-member organization started with the vision of one man—Paul P. Harris. The Chicago attorney formed one of the world’s first service organizations, the Rotary Club of Chicago, on 23 February 1905 as a place where professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. Rotary’s name came from the group’s early practice of rotating meetings among the offices of each member.
