The Rotary Foundation · Active service

Citation for Meritorious Service

Recognising the members whose active service helps The Rotary Foundation turn its purpose into practical results.

About the citation

This citation recognises active service to The Rotary Foundation. It acknowledges the contribution of members who help Foundation programs, grants and activities succeed over time.

Relevant service can include work on Foundation committees, involvement in grants and programs, and support for Rotary Peace Fellows. The case should explain the person’s own contribution and its results.

Service is the basis for recognition

Nominees need more than one year of active Foundation service. Financial contributions, however generous, are not the basis for this citation.

Preparing a nomination

Discuss the nomination with the District Rotary Foundation Chair early. Set out the member’s Foundation service and when it took place, and arrange the Governor’s endorsement.

Read Rotary’s eligibility requirements, including the rules on previous awards. Explain what the member did and what their work achieved.
